Crack the code of sock knitting by focusing on the magical moment: turning the heel. In this focused 90-minute session, you'll knit just the heel of sock, to de-mystify the clever construction techniques behind this essential section.
What you will learn:
Casting on for a top-down sock
Knitting in the round on dpns
Working a traditional heel flap
Turning the heel with short rows
Picking up stitches for the gusset
Decreasing to shape the gusset
Understanding sock anatomy and how it all fits together
You won't finish a full sock in this class‚ but leave with a mini sample, new skills, and the confidence to tackle real socks on your own.
You should be confident with casting on, knit and purl stitches
Suitable for intermediate knitters or adventurous improvers
Level - Intermediate
