Hexagon cardigans have become one of the most popular crochet garments in recent years, and in this workshop you'll discover just how simple and clever their construction really is.

Suitable for crocheters who can already work chain stitches and treble crochet stitches, this workshop will guide you through creating the two crochet hexagons that form the foundation of a cardigan.

During the session, you'll learn:
How to crochet a traditional hexagon motif
How colour changes can be incorporated into your design
How two hexagons are folded to create cardigan sleeves and body
How the pieces are joined together
How to add simple ribbed edging using raised treble stitches

Participants will begin a miniature hexi cardigan project that demonstrates the construction process and can be completed at home. The techniques learned can then be applied to create a full-sized cardigan.

Materials provided: yarn, printed pattern/worksheet and stitch guide.

Skills required: Participants should be comfortable working chain stitches and treble crochet stitches
